Full Day Hire

If you are looking for a fun filled adventure under your own steam then this is the activity for you. Our 10ft mini rafts fit between 3-5 people and are modelled on our largest rafts in the UK. You can hire these just like you would a canoe or kayak.

These are great for corporate trips, friends and families or a good old stag or hen do.

You have an all day experience paddling through the beautiful Shropshire countryside so remember to pack your food and soft drinks for the day. We will provide you with a large dry bag to store your belongings.

(Full distance route - 15 miles)

You can park for the full day in Dale End pay and display car park (TF8 7BS) and we are then a 2 minute walk to the Wharfage car park (TF8 7NH) where we meet at 8.45am at our Little Green Kiosk. If you are running late please call us. As we may have other customers waiting to be transported to Atcham, if you arrive late, we cannot guarantee that your trip will go ahead. We then fit you with a buoyancy aid, paddle and dry bag and finish off the paperwork stating you have paddled before. After a short safety briefing, there is a 15 minute trip in our minibus to Atcham where you are on the water for your full day on the river Severn. Take in the gorgeous scenery along the way and enjoy the beautiful wildlife of the kingfishers, wagtails, swans and deer to experience an idyllic trip returning to Ironbridge by the latest at 4pm-4.30pm. There are plenty of pebble beaches along the way as you pass by Cressage and Buildwas on your 15 mile trip so make sure you pack plenty of sandwiches and soft drinks.

(Half distance route - 7.5 miles)

If the thought of 15 miles from Atcham to Ironbridge seems too far, you can try our half distance route at 7.5 miles.   You can park for the full day in Dale End pay and display car park (TF8 7BS) and we are then a 2 minute walk to the Wharfage car park (TF8 7NH) where we meet at 9.45am at our Little Green Kiosk. We will transport you and your group to the start point with all the equipment.  You then have the full day to paddle back to Ironbridge, stopping along the way for a picnic lunch.  As the mini-raft is booked out for your group for the full day, the price is the same as the Atcham to Ironbridge (15 miles) route but you are able to paddle at a more leisurely pace and take your time.  This route is ideal for families with younger children and takes approximately 3-4 hours to paddle (depending on stops along the way).

When booking online please specify in the notes if you would like to paddle the half distance route.

1 hour hire (2 mile little rapid run)

New this year is our 2 mile little rapid run!  You can enjoy the beauty of the Ironbridge Gorge with a fun rapid at the end of the trip.  The 2 mile course starts on the gravel beach by our Little Green Kiosk.  Paddling down river, you pass under the great Iron Bridge, through the narrows and underneath the new bridge in Jackfield before running the short 75 metre class II rapid.  Rounding the corner you then finish at the Half Moon Pub in Jackfield.  The course can be run in as little as 25 minutes but you have one hour booked so we advise you to take your time pulling over to enjoy the scenery and enjoy a spot of magnet fishing.  We offer two set times per day to start your trip at 11.45am and 2.15pm.  Our shuttle driver will pick you up at the end of your trip at a designated time, so you may even have time to enjoy a quick drink at the pub!  Please Note: After disembarking you will be required to carry the raft a short distance up the 10 metre slipway.  Please do not leave the raft or equipment unattended at any time as you are responsible for them and will be charged in full for any damage or loss of equipment whilst in your possession.

Start time 11.45am - Shuttle driver will pick you up at the Half Moon Pub at 1pm

Start time 2.15pm - Shuttle driver will pick you up at the Half Moon Pub at 3.30pm

Due to running the rapid children under the age of 10 cannot participate.  All safety equipment is provided including buoyancy aids, paddles, dry bag, helmets and magnet fishing lines and we will provide a map to help you navigate along the way.  This activity is more suitable for people who have prior experience of paddling on the river. Please note we can only run this activity in low water.
